The Series
Comprising dozens of etchings in color on fine Arches paper, Flora Dalinae draws on the rich tradition of botanical illustration — the kind found in the great natural history atlases of the 17th and 18th centuries, and transforms it through Dalí's singular lens. Each flower is rendered with meticulous attention to form, texture, and color, yet carries an unmistakable surreal charge: petals that seem to breathe, stamens that reach like fingers, blooms that feel simultaneously alive and otherworldly.
Dalí was fascinated by the underlying mathematics of nature — the Fibonacci spirals of a sunflower, the fractal geometry of a fern — and Flora Dalinae reflects that obsession. Passion Flower
Among the most celebrated works in the suite is Passion Flower — a bloom long associated with spirituality and devotion, here rendered in Dalí's hands as something almost cosmic.
