Custom Framing Done Right

Custom Framing at The Art Howse

Framing is the finishing touch that makes an artwork feel complete. It is the moment when a piece settles into its role and starts to belong. The right frame does not steal attention. It supports the work, sharpens its presence, and gives it a sense of place in your home.

We approach framing the same way we approach collecting. Thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with a strong respect for how art actually lives with people. Sometimes that means keeping things quiet and restrained. Sometimes it means letting the frame speak just enough. Our role is to help you find the version that feels right.

Framing Options We Offer

Each project is custom, but these are the framing approaches we return to most often.

Float Framing
The artwork appears suspended within the frame, allowing its edges to remain visible. This works beautifully for pieces on paper, canvas, or with natural edges.

Gallery or Museum Framing
Clean, classic, and archival. Often paired with matting for works on paper, this approach gives the artwork space and quiet authority.

Flush or Edge Framing
The artwork sits directly within the frame for a crisp, architectural look that works especially well with contemporary pieces.

Minimal and Statement Frames
Sometimes the frame disappears into the background. Other times it adds structure or personality. We help determine which direction best supports the artwork.

Whenever possible, we use archival materials to protect the work and ensure it lasts.

Glass and Matting Considerations

For works on paper, we guide decisions around matting and glazing. This may include archival mats, UV-protective glass, or non-reflective museum glass. The goal is always the same. Protect the artwork while keeping it clear, legible, and visually balanced in the space.

Turnaround Time

Custom framing typically takes 2 to 3 weeks from final approval. Because each frame is made specifically for the artwork, timelines may vary slightly depending on materials and scope. We will always communicate clearly if a project requires additional time.

A Collaborative Process

Framing with us is meant to feel easy and considered. We are here to guide, refine, and answer questions along the way. If you know exactly what you want, we are happy to execute it. If you are unsure, we will help you get there.

When the artwork goes on your wall, it should feel settled, intentional, and unmistakably yours.
