Carlos Azanedo — Sleepless

Sleepless is a nocturnal cityscape by Madrid-based contemporary artist Carlos Azanedo — a city that never fully quiets, rendered in restless, luminous brushwork. Light fractures across dark streets, energy hums beneath the surface, and the night feels alive with possibility and unease in equal measure. Working without sketches or references, Azanedo channels the city from memory, giving the scene an urgency that is entirely his own.

Carlos Azanedo (Madrid, 1990) graduated in Architecture with highest honors from the University of Madrid. His work has been exhibited across Spain, Europe, the U.S., and Japan, and featured in renowned national and international publications.
